Athletics

Welcome from the Athletic Directorheadshot

Welcome to Hillwood High School. We have many different sport teams that compete for varsity level TSSAA championships, and several of our sports like football, soccer, basketball, baseball and cheerleading compete at both the junior varsity and varsity levels.

We have a dynamic coaching staff with many years of experience, and several have competed at the college level themselves. All our coaches focus on developing the entire student athlete and expect our young men and women to compete just as hard in the classroom as they do on the field, court, and mat. Our outstanding group of coaches understands the importance of teaching vital life lessons through athletics.

Because we represent those that have gone before us here at Hillwood High School, our families and community, we hold our student athletes to a high standard of sportsmanship and conduct. We expect our student athletes, coaches, and parents to win with humility and lose with grace. Our interactions with opposing teams, fans and coaches should always be positive in nature.

The Hillwood athletic program strives for excellence. Within a few years, we will enjoy a brand-new state of the art campus which will include the very best athletic facilities in the state.

The Hillwood High School athletic department is focused on providing the total athletic experience to enhance students' four years on campus, build confidence and determination they will carry into adulthood, develop lasting friendships, and create cherished memories for a lifetime.

I am proud to be guiding an athletic department with great leadership. Executive Principal, Dr. Sheaffer, understands the impact of athletics on our students and he supports all our sports to the fullest.

It is an exciting time to be a Hillwood Hilltopper and our future is even brighter.  With the support of our families, community, alumni, and area businesses, the Hilltoppers will continue to strive to make you proud of our athletic program.

Go Toppers!
